Results of Performance Benchmarks for Brentech Data Systems’ AWARDS-BA³ - Advanced Wholesale And Realtime Distribution System carried out in May of this year.

In 1995, Brentech Data Systems, authors of the AWARDS SCM application suite, joined forces with Sun Microsystems Limited to officially benchmark transaction throughput on the Sun Server series. The tests were completed in the UK Performance Centre in front of invited guests from the Pharmaceutical and Veterinary sector, where the Brentech and Sun combination more than doubled the expected throughput under everyday processing conditions.

Today, Brentech Data Systems are delighted to reveal the results of recent Order-Processing Performance Benchmarks on the AWARDS-BA³ - Advanced Wholesale And Realtime Distribution System. It is fair to say we managed to smash all previous records – including all known competitor figures – by a huge margin!

A web service based test was carried out to measure the order-taking performance of our AWARDS-BA³ system. The test duration was 60 minutes in which seven clients were used to create orders and contact the AWARDS-BA³ Web Service.

The server used was the HP ProLiant ML330G6 with 12 GB Memory – a typical 20 user configuration retailing at just under £2000. In total 4,500 products were available for purchase, all of which were batch controlled. A total of 5,000 orders were created. Each order contained an average of 20 order lines with over 620,000 SKU's being processed.

Within each of these orders two products came from a list of the top ten most popular products, four were from a list of eleven to one hundred in-demand products and the remaining products were randomly selected. This was to establish whether there were any issues with regard to system contention across popular products.

Having carried out the full benchmarking analysis, Brentech Data Systems are delighted to announce that the AWARDS-BA³ system processed a total of 103,300 Order Lines in One Hour, highlighting the immense capabilities of our AWARD-BA³ Advanced Wholesale & Real-Time Distribution System.
